I think that in the case of Palestine for one, the truth is even much more disturbing than this. The "ordinary" people who go there to fight are radicalised. When Shamima Begum went to fight for a foreign terrorist organization it made world headlines; and yet when these men and women radicalised into extreme violence by a Jewish supremacist ideology, go to brutalise women and children in a foreign country, they have complete immunity from justice. This needs to end, and every single one of these people needs to be held to account. I find it deeply disturbing that such people could live next door to you or I, or that I may rub shoulders with them every day.
This is a very important point you raise. We do not recall a single instance of so many people, especially those in positions of power, openly rooting for a genocide without any shame or remorse.
The case of Shamima Begum is all the more ironic: She effectively joined a western-backed terrorist organisation and was prosecuted by the very same powers that created it.
Indeed, the situation is unprecedented; and yes, ISIS was created and funded by those very same powers that actually are behind the genocide today. Irony indeed.
One of the most important precepts in the rule of law is equality before it. British subjects, or those from any country holding itself as governed by the rule of law, who assisted Israel must be prosecuted for war crimes. Alternatively the relevant country must disavow the rule of law.
A few weeks ago Lowkey revealed the identity of several such British mercenaries, incl. the son of one British aristocrat. Nothing’s happened since then on the prosecution front.
An equally serious issue is the Crown Prosecution Service being compromised, as it’s happened in the case of Palestine Action.
It should be clear to all that once this is all over, things cannot get back to how they were and are. The old order must be dismantled and we should not fear the work involved in building something new.
I like to think in terms of tides. The tide is turning on the matter of Israel. The world is sickened by a Holocaust played out on our phones. As for the change, absolute insistence on its strict application or otherwise admit it was a sham. Britain has a great deal to answer for.
This is not the first time we are experiencing something so criminal and cruel. There have been past instances that were just as horrific in those days. However, what matters is how the transition from one order to the next happens. Work on this transition needs to start now and we need to be actively involved in shaping it. Else, we‘ll see the same old coterie playing their same old game in a different garb for the new times. And we‘ll have nothing left to do but complain and protest.
We need to move on from protesting to leading. This is the hour to lead.

They should be. But, will they be?
